Reverse (Back)
• Wreath made of oak leaves surrounding the words ONE CENT.
• At the top appears the shield representing the United States.
Historical Background
The Indian Head cent series was produced from 1859 to 1909.
In 1909, it was replaced by the famous Abraham Lincoln Lincoln cent to celebrate Lincoln’s 100th birthday.
