Job Details

Bear & Hammer is looking for a Junior Technician to join our technical team in Abu Dhabi.

This is an entry-level technical position intended for someone who already has basic hands-on ability and is comfortable working with tools, but who is still at the beginning of their professional development.

We are not looking for someone who already knows every trade. We are looking for someone practical, technically minded, careful, reliable, and genuinely interested in learning.

The successful candidate will work alongside and learn from our Senior Electrician and Site Supervisor, gradually developing skills across the different types of maintenance and technical work performed by Bear & Hammer.

What You Will Do
You will assist with and, as your skills develop, independently perform work including:
- Basic electrical work
- Basic plumbing and maintenance
- Drilling, mounting and installation
- Furniture and fixture assembly
- Minor repairs and adjustments
- Basic painting, patching and finishing
- Sealing and silicone work
- AC cleaning and basic maintenance
- Waterproofing and other technical works
- Preparation, protection and cleaning of work areas
- Use and maintenance of tools and equipment

You will receive practical training and gradually take on more complex work as your competence develops.

What We Require
You do not need formal technical qualifications or extensive professional experience.

You do need:
- Functional spoken and written English (Russian language skills are an advantage)
- Basic experience using common hand and power tools
-Ability to perform simple practical tasks such as mounting, hanging, assembling or repairing uncomplicated items
- Ability to use a measuring tape and level and understand alignment, positioning and accurate measurement
- Good practical and mechanical common sense
- Basic understanding of how weight, force, support, water, electricity and different materials affect practical work
- Ability to follow instructions carefully
- Willingness to ask questions when you are unsure
- Genuine interest in learning technical skills and improving your workmanship
- Ability to accept instruction and correction and apply what you have learned
- Care and attention when working inside clients' homes and businesses
- Reliability and punctuality

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who cares about doing work properly, not simply finishing it as quickly as possible.

Qualifications & Experience
No specific certificate, diploma or degree is required.
Relevant vocational education, technical courses, certificates or previous work experience are welcome, but practical ability and attitude are more important to us.

UAE work experience is not required.
Candidates must currently be based in the UAE and available to attend an in-person interview and practical skills assessment in Abu Dhabi.

What We Provide
- AED 4,000 monthly basic salary
- UAE employment visa
- Health insurance
- Transportation for work
- All required tools and equipment
- On-the-job training and development
- Opportunity to learn multiple technical trades
- Opportunity for increased responsibility and salary growth as your skills develop
- Accommodation and meals are NOT provided.

How We Hire
We do not select technicians based only on CVs, job titles or certificates.
Shortlisted candidates will complete an in-person practical assessment so that we can understand how you use tools, approach practical problems, follow instructions and learn.

You do not need to know everything already. We are looking for someone with a good foundation who wants to become excellent at the work.
