Job Description

Senior member and advisor to UZFD management and team leads regarding petroleum engineering and production technology related activities. Subject Matter Expert responsible for all aspects of petroleum engineering tasks including wells design, performance evaluation, optimization and implementation of mitigation measures as well as providing guidance, training and mentoring to Engineers and Site operations personnel. This critical position for future Client operations requires expert technical and excellent problem solving skills with a drive for results. Capable to identify and close skills gaps. Must be action oriented, high ethical values, and have a strong results focus. Excellent written and verbal communication.

Expert knowledge and mastery of overall aspects of petroleum engineering, production technology, subsurface and surface engineering.
Proficient in diagnosing mechanical or flow assurance related well problems, and interpretation subsurface tests and logs (pressure test, transient, cased and open hole logs).
Strong background in design and interpretation of flow test, and measurement techniques (separator and MPFM based).
Responsible for applying best practices in designing and implementation of wells completion, stimulation, perforation, and gas lift system for Upper Zakum.
Recommend effective organizational changes to optimally manage petroleum engineering tasks including production planning, back allocation and wells performance evaluation.
Recommend and implement monitoring, optimization and surveillance programs for wells.
Provide leadership and coaching to guide, mentor and train young professionals.
Strong understanding of NODAL inflow and outflow analysis. Proficient in software applications for well design, stimulation design and artificial lift.
Proficient in well and network models construction, validation and application for performance analysis and detailed gas lift design. Optimize designs to fit changing well conditions, trouble-shoot problems and do failure analysis.
In-depth knowledge of real time well performance, gas lift monitoring, troubleshooting and real time optimization with strong background on utilization of DTS, downhole pressure and temperature measurements as part of i-Field facility, automation and SCADA control.
Capable of evaluating different vendors petroleum engineering software for well and network modeling, gas lift design, diagnostics, and real time optimization. Recommend the best set of integrated software’s for gas lifted wells and facilities optimal operations.
Coordinate downhole and surface well completion equipment selection, specification and procurement including ICDs/ICVs, DTS, gauges, gas lift mandrels, valves and kickover tools following API standards, working closely with drilling, production engineering, reservoir management.
Ability to interpret and manage large volumes of technical data, perform necessary computations.
Must be creative with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines.
Well developed communication skills and ability to foster teamwork and collaboration
Excellent problem solving skills with a drive for results.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Must have a good project management skills, good organizing, planning, and presentation skills.
Sound ability to manage time, make quality decisions, and manage and measure work.

Skill set

Minimum of B.Sc. degree in petroleum, chemical or mechanical engineering and a minimum of 15 years of experience in petroleum engineering and production technology related activities.
