Charterhouse is working with a world renowned financial services company looking to urgently hire a mechanical biased engineer / project manager to join their team headquarter based team in Abu Dhabi.

Reporting to Facilities Management Lead, you will be responsible for the oversight of the companies mechanical systems and projects, in support of the Programme Manager, including the identification, development and scope preparation, procurement and delivery of multiple works projects through the current service provider or third party contract who is based on site. This will involve the day-to-day management of mechanical, HVAC and building services projects with direct responsibility for contract delivery planning, programming of works, carrying out site meetings, and project handover.

The successful candidate should be fluent in English (first language) and be Degree educated in either mechanical or electrical, but this is a mechanical focussed role. You should have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within a project managers role and a scope/specification development role of a medium-to-large scale facility. You should have experience in managing multiple projects, regional experience in the Middle East is preferred. You should have excellent working knowledge of mechanical and building services systems, energy and environment systems, etc., good knowledge of risk management and business continuity planning, knowledge of local and international standards and knowledge of maintenance methods and technologies. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex systems to non-technical audiences. You should also have excellent time management and be capable of working to challenging timeframes along with good problem solving abilities with a clear understanding of mechanical system objectives. In addition, you should have the ability to see problems as opportunities and manage will under pressure.
