Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Dewatering Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhauling of diesel engines, dewatering pumps, generators, and heavy equipment used in site operations. The candidate should be capable of independently diagnosing mechanical faults and ensuring equipment reliability with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of diesel engines, pumps, generators, and heavy equipment.
2. Carry out complete engine overhauling, dismantling, assembly, calibration, and testing of mechanical components.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults independently and provide effective repair solutions.
4. Maintain and repair dewatering pumps, diesel-driven pump sets, and associated mechanical systems.
5. Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, damage, and operational issues.
6. Repair and maintain fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, hydraulic systems, and engine components.
7. Conduct servicing and maintenance of heavy equipment as per manufacturer recommendations.
8. Ensure proper functioning of pumps, engines, belts, bearings, seals, couplings, and rotating equipment.
9. Attend site breakdowns and emergency maintenance activities to minimize operational downtime.
10. Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and spare parts usage details.
11. Coordinate with operations and electrical teams to ensure smooth equipment performance.
12. Follow company safety procedures and maintain safe working practices at all times.
13. Ensure housekeeping and proper maintenance of tools and workshop equipment.

Requirements
1. Diploma / ITI qualification in Mechanical, Diesel Mechanic, or related trade is mandatory.
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in engine overhauling and heavy equipment maintenance.
3. Strong hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and mechanical systems.
4. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues independently.
5. Experience in maintenance and repair of dewatering pumps and heavy equipment.
6. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and equipment servicing schedules.
7. Familiarity with workshop tools, engine diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
8. Ability to work under pressure and attend emergency breakdowns when required.
9. UAE/GCC experience will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
10. Experience in repairing and maintaining:
Perkins engines
Cummins engines
Kirloskar pumps
Duetz / Deutz pumps and engines
10. Experience in dewatering, construction, industrial, or rental equipment industry preferred.
