Qualifications :

Ø To respond to any emergency that may arise within an area of Operations supervision. Taking control of the situation by providing/supervising first responder first aid when required while maintaining adequate personal protection at all times. Ensuring adequate hand over to any senior colleague members arriving at the scene in order to maintain the highest standards of safety and care.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards provide surveillance of swimmers (10/20)

Ø Ensure Lifeguards address environmental concerns.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards exhibit attentiveness to their zone of protection.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards exhibit a professional behavior/demeanor.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards are Rescue Ready at all times.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards exhibit proactive bottom, entry & exit scans during rotations.

Ø Ensure Lifeguards exhibit a rotation without loss of eye contact.

Ø Ensure that the Lifeguard location allows visual surveillance of entire zone.

Ø Ensure that the Lifeguard location allows immediate access to rescue.

Ø To maintain your own skill levels to an equal or higher standard than that of the
lifeguards in order to ensure that the Lifeguards and Lifeguard training
requirements maintain the highest standards of safety and skills.

Ø To respond to guest complaints in the first instance, and if unable to resolve the
guests concern to bring the matter to the attention of an Assistant director to
resolve problems / concerns as quickly and informally as possible in order
ensure the needs of our guests in relation to Customer Service Index are
addressed and understood.

Ø To organize the daily rotation and breaks for the lifeguards ensuring they are working efficiently and professionally whilst monitoring any discrepancies in time keeping.

Ø To ensure lifeguards clean all defined areas of the pools and walkways maintaining the highest possible standards of cleanliness.

Ø To conduct regular in house lifeguard training.

Ø To have a thorough knowledge in the FOE emergency action and health and safety procedures.

Ø To ensure that lifeguards maintain the highest standards of personal appearance and timekeeping at all times.

Ø To ensure members and guests adhere to the hotel rules and regulations around the pool areas.

Ø To maintain a neat, clean appearance wearing the uniforms required by the hotel.

Ø To become a licensed lifeguard in order to deliver the necessary skills such as water rescues, First Aid, and CPR when needed. Skill levels must be audit ready at all times in order to exceed the highest standards of safety.

Ø To understand and follow St. Regis FOE and Emergency Actions Plans in order to have in-depth knowledge of the operational requirements and protocol.

Ø Ensure the safety of members and guests swimming in the pool and sea and employee lifesaving procedures as required.

Ø Maintenance of all lifesaving equipment ensuring it is in good working order ready for use at all times.

Ø Maintain high levels of cleanliness in and around the designated areas i.e. litter free beach and pool area.

Ø Using any machinery, equipment or dangerous substance in accordance with training and instruction received.

Ø Policing the pool areas, ensuring that no unauthorized people should enter the club/hotel premises.

Ø Maintain excellent levels of fitness as required for lifesaving responsibilities.

Ø Maintain a neat and clean appearance and good command of spoken English.

Ø Be aware of the fire and safety regulations and procedures at the hotel and know the evacuation procedure and the location of the evacuation meeting point.

Ø Attend training sessions as required.

Ø Attend department communication meetings as required.

Ø Ensure that members and guests adhere to the club rules and regulations.

Ø Carry out tasks required by Lifeguard supervisor.

Ø Be aware of the Lost and Found policy. This is vital you adhere to the procedures as laid out in this document.

Ø Ensure you report for duty on time.

Ø Do not wear jewelry, except a wedding ring, and a watch on duty.

Ø Conduct swimming lessons (if certified) for members/guests

Ø Cleaning and maintenance of all pool areas including furniture and showers to the required minimum standard as outlined in the duty schedules.

Ø Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management team including assistance for large events or hotel functions.

Ø Carry out any other duties as assigned by the (assistant) and other senior management.
