There are very few preamplifiers in the world that genuinely deserve the word legendary. The Gryphon Elektra is one of them.
Designed and hand-assembled in Denmark by Gryphon Audio Designs, the Elektra represents a philosophy that has always set Gryphon apart: uncompromising dual-mono architecture, zero global feedback, and a signal path engineered to get out of the way of the music. The result is a frequency response of DC to 3 MHz, channel separation of 100 dB, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dBA — figures that embarrass much of what passes for high-end today.
Every design decision in the Elektra was made in service of one goal: absolute fidelity. Separate regulated power supplies for each channel. Fully discrete construction throughout. A non-resonant, non-magnetic chassis. WBT connectors. Swiss-made stepped attenuators. These are not marketing bullet points — they are the reason this preamplifier sounds the way it does.
